‘Blue Monday’ Real or A Myth?

Blue Monday Real or Myth

Blue Monday – is it real or a myth?

Blue Monday It’s actually a made up day, a myth, that was a PR stunt for Sky Travel, so they could sell more holidays. They coined the phrase ‘the most depressing day of the year’ – assuming that we all feel low and depressed in January after the high of Christmas and New Year, the long wait to get paid in January, and the dark cold weather of winter. They even create a formula to calculate just how blue it was going to be!  And like slaves to the rhythm of their beat we march to their PR tune!

Well we don’t have to!

There is no day in the year any more depressing than any other because we don’t all feel the same, so let’s give life our own labels I say, and take each day as it comes! Without the awful dread of ‘ the most depressing day of the year’, which will be a self fulfilling prophecy if you allow it to be!

It will be the day you allow it to be, your thinking will drive the feelings and if you decide that every day in January is going to be joyous and believe it then that is what you will get.

Blue can be a happy colour and not just on Monday’s.

Who said blue had to be depressing anyway, blue can be bright and sunshiny, all shimmering and sparkly, if you want it to be that is. The secret really is that your thoughts about a situation manifest the feelings which in turn create your behaviours, so if you think it’s depressing you will feel blue and maybe stay in bed all day feeling low.

But if your thought is it’s the best day ever then maybe the sun will shine then you are not likely to feel low, and you might hop, skip and jump your way through the day!

We have mental health 365 days of the year so why should one day be singled out?

We are here to help people to grow their mental wealth to support their growth every day and we believe our thinking can be changed which is right behind our ethos here at R-evolution, we truly believe that all people can make transformations in their thinking that will change their future.

R-evolution coaching.

That’s where our coaches come in, they work one to one with people to help them make changes they want to see, taking the reins and not allowing the PR stunts of this world like ‘Blue Monday’ decide how their day will go!

Coaching is available to everyone and if you want to get involved by volunteering as a coach please get in touch, we offer training and support to help you on your coaching journey…it really does help you to flip your thinking and brighten the blue!
