What is Joining The Revolution about?

R-evolution For Good is registered as a Charitable Community Benefit Society (No. SCO50392), we are a community owned society with purely charitable purpose and any revenue generating work must allow it to carry out its charitable purpose only.

We will provide training as a business in retail, tourism, manufacturing and catering and use the profit to provide a coaching service to families in poverty creating a long term solution rather than a short term hit.

To enable us to do this we need to raise £40,000 to support the business through community shares, that’s where you come in….

This is an exciting opportunity to be able to invest in the development of R-evolution For Good, where you can be part of a new and innovative way to create a social change. Your investment would help us on our journey to end child poverty one family at a time, right across the globe but starting right here in Moray!

What are Community Shares?

Community shares are a way of raising investment capital from communities. Local people are encouraged to buy shares in the enterprise, so become part-owners.

As shareholders they are more likely to do everything they can to ensure the success of the business, as a result, becoming volunteers and supporters of the enterprise.

Community shares have been used to finance shops, pubs, community buildings, local food schemes, football clubs and even renewable energy initiatives. Most community share offers are made by enterprises registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.

What will I get when I buy Community Shares?

If you buy community shares in R-evolution you will become a member of the Society, with an equal vote regardless of the size of your shareholding. Your involvement can be as much or as little as you wish.

You can vote at Member Meetings, stand for election to the Board, volunteer skills for the running of the organisation or even help run community events or activities.

But most importantly you will become part of the solution to ending child poverty in your community.  To find out more visit Community Shares Scotland

How much are the Community Shares?

Each share is worth £25.  You can buy between 1 and 160 shares.

Still not convinced?

Below in a quote from a parent that we helped and what our service will provide for her:

“When we left the family home, we had nothing but a few items of clothing. We had absolutely nothing. Without Debi and the Moray School Bank, I don’t know how I would have got the children into school as we had no uniforms and no money to buy anything. They’ve been an absolute lifeline, I can’t thank them enough. During lockdown, they gave us shopping vouchers so I could get food shopping as I couldn’t afford to buy food for the children. I am really keen to start the life coaching programme with R-evolution for Good, it will give me the help I need to move forward, get a plan together and start a better, more secure and positive life for myself and the children. They’ve had enough disruption and uncertainty to deal with, R-evolution for Good will help me with budgeting and planning so I can get us as a family out of the poverty cycle we are in and that gives me so much hope for the future.”

We hope that you will consider investing in Community Share and joining our Revolution For Good, helping us to End Child Poverty.
