Life Coaching – What is it?

What exactly is Life Coaching?

We get asked what is Life Coaching all the time at R-evolution! Essentially it’s having a person with you who helps to encourage you to get motivated to do things differently so you can achieve the goals you set yourself.

It begins with a really supportive relationship between both people where there is honesty and trust, allowing them to share honest thoughts and observations. The person being life coached will have identified something about their life they want to change, but are probably lacking in the drive and motivation to do it by themselves.

The relationship allows the coach to walk with the person shoulder to shoulder as they set goals and get into action. They are there to help the person remove any barriers they face along the way. They will be the person that believes in you until you can believe in yourself.

Progression Coaching

The coaching we use at R-evolution is called progression coaching, which is all about looking forward, towards a new future.

Once the person and their coach have built a relationship there is a coaching process that our coaches will work through with you.  The process is there to support and can be flexible. Our coaches will help you to take a look back at your life journey, gathering up all the good stuff to take with you and leaving all the not so good stuff behind.

A Life Coach will help you to create an image of your ideal world, so you have a clear picture of where you are headed, helping you to prioritise the changes you want to make through assessing where you need support and what are your priorities are for change, setting small goals towards your new normal.

A Journey We Take Together

Your coach will work with you each step of the way, challenging you where necessary to help you make the right decisions for your future.

If you could imagine the coach and the person going on a journey together, in he beginning the coach would be driving but the person is always navigating from the passenger seat, this is their journey, they know where they want to be. As they get further down the road they will swap places and the person will drive and the coach will sit beside them in the passenger seat.

As the persons skills and confidence grow they will eventually be happy to take on the journey themselves and they will stop the car and let the coach out as they go on their way. On their way to their new destination.

It is truly a magical journey of self discovery and transformation, allowing people to unlock their potential and gain skills to make lasting change.

There’s more about our Life Coaching here.
