The course is aimed at qualified counsellors who have already achieved at least an SCQF Level 8 diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant counselling discipline. Candidates should be looking to work directly with children or young people in a therapeutic role and should have access to an opportunity for supervised practice with this age group. All candidates should be registered with a counselling body and be currently practicing. All candidates must be members of the PVG scheme in Scotland. Unit J2RG37 can be completed by counsellors who are currently completing a diploma level course in counselling, however progress to Unit J3HH38 is limited to those who have successfully been awarded their counselling diploma and have completed their 100 hours supervised practice.
